Catron Wallace
Catron is an abstract artist with over 30 years of experience. Since she was a young child, she has been fascinated by ancient civilizations, stories, myths and legends. She has read countless books on King Arthur, both fiction and non-fiction, as well as Greek and Roman mythology and ancient history. She dreamed of becoming an archaeologist and finding the elusive lost city or civilization. She believes her work reflects this. The layers of paint and texture represent her heart’s desire to uncover something old, mysterious and downright intriguing.
In 2020, Catron was honored to be named Nashville Art Creator of the Year by the Nashville Lifestyles Magazine for her acrylic and mixed media painting of the Nashville skyline. Catron’s abstract expressionist paintings have been showcased in many galleries across the southeast and have been featured in corporate and residential settings throughout the United States. Catron was also voted to participate in the Art Wall for the AT&T building in downtown Nashville. The Christmas Day bombing in 2020 destroyed the wall, but could not destroy her spirit. In response, Let’s Color Nashville Art Project invited her and other local artists to paint nearly 30 murals on the boarded-up windows of destroyed buildings, bringing positivity, joy and beauty to the affected area.
Throughout Catron’s career, she has been interviewed and featured in various magazines and TV shows, including HGTV, PBS, Nashville Lifestyles Magazine and Legends Magazine.
Catron currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
