Kim Hayes

Kim Hayes grew up in Los Angeles, California where she was exposed to all forms of art at home and throughout the city. She earned scholarships to the Art Center College of Design high school program for four years and studied Art and Communication at California State University Northridge. While having a career in advertising as a Creative Director and Marketing Director she continued to study painting with well known regional artists. Watercolor has always been a particular draw, its loose nature and uncontrolled outcomes are of particular interest. After moving to the lush green hills of Middle Tennessee in 1998, Kim’s work has been particularly influenced by the flora and landscape. Currently working toward abstraction and the emotion or mood a particular piece evokes is the focus in her work.
